Preventive Maintenance

Protect Your Family’s Comfort and Your Investment

At A/C Works, we believe the best way to avoid costly breakdowns is through routine preventive maintenance. Your heating and cooling system operates thousands of hours each year, and like any mechanical equipment, it requires regular inspection, cleaning, and adjustment to perform at its best. Like your car or truck, you want to keep your HVAC equipment serviced on a regular basis to keep it operating at its most efficient capacity.

Our comprehensive preventive maintenance service is designed to improve efficiency, extend equipment life, enhance comfort, and identify potential issues before they become expensive repairs.

What Our Preventive Maintenance Includes

Complete System Inspection

Our technicians perform a thorough evaluation of your HVAC system to ensure all components are operating properly and safely.

Thermostat Testing

We inspect and test the thermostat to verify accurate temperature readings, proper communication with the system, and correct operating functions. If your thermostat has batteries, we will test them to make sure they don’t need to be changed.

Filter Inspection and Change

We inspect and/or change the filter if needed. A clean filter helps improve airflow, indoor air quality, and system efficiency. We can provide the filters at an additional charge, or you can provide them and have them ready for the technician.

Electrical Component Inspection

Electrical connections are inspected for wear, corrosion, overheating, and loose wiring. We test capacitors, contactors, relays, and other critical electrical components to help prevent unexpected failures.

Safety Control Testing

Safety devices and controls are tested to ensure your system operates safely and shuts down properly if an issue occurs.

Condensate Drain Inspection

We inspect the condensate drain system for proper drainage and signs of blockage that could lead to water damage or system shutdowns. We will clear the drain if it is clogged at the HVAC. A professional Drain Blowout may be needed if clogs are found further down the drain.

Indoor Coil Inspection

The evaporator coil is inspected for cleanliness, proper operation, and signs of leaks or excessive buildup that could restrict airflow and reduce efficiency.

Outdoor Unit Inspection

We inspect the condenser unit, including the fan motor, condenser coil, refrigerant lines, electrical components, and overall equipment condition. We also check to make sure the equipment is level and there are no shrubs or other restrictions within 36” of the unit. You can also have the top removed and the inside of the condenser cleaned to remove leaves, debris, and other obstructions. Ask your maintenance technician for more information.

Refrigerant System Evaluation

Our technicians check system performance and evaluate refrigerant pressures and temperatures when appropriate to ensure the system is operating within manufacturer specifications.

Airflow Assessment

Proper airflow is critical for comfort and efficiency. We inspect blower performance and evaluate airflow throughout the system.
Temperature Performance Testing
We measure system temperature differentials to verify that the heating and cooling equipment is performing properly.

Equipment Cleaning

Accessible components are cleaned as needed to improve performance and reduce unnecessary strain on the system. Ask your technician about performing a professional pull and clean of the evaporator coil when necessary.

Lubrication of Moving Components

Where applicable, moving parts are inspected and lubricated to reduce wear and extend component life.
